Dengue: How are we doing?
The incidence of dengue and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) has grown in the Americas, following the same pattern as in Asia with a lapse of 30 years. This presentation also cites the Resolution of the PAHO Directing Council, which established a model for the prevention and control of dengue, showing the countries how to depart from vertical models to horizontal ones. It cites the ten items--the Decalogue--of the Integrated Strategy that resulted from the Resolution and was approved by the PAHO Member States en September 2001.
